41 - Dots Vs Lines

Which style do you like? Polkadots OR Lines?
I personally thought I can make a decision.

But as I see more pictures of my past daily outfits, looking into my wardrobe, I was wrong.

I love both. I am not able to give up 1 for the other.

Instead, I found few pictures of me playing both dots & lines in an outfit which is really fun.

Don't be restricted by wearing lines and no dots in 1 outfit. They can surprise you being together.

Of course, most importantly, make 1 the subject & the other co-subject.

If you wanna play out LOUD, make sure both clashes so much that it confuses people seeing your outfit.

Confuse here does not mean causing headache to others.

Instead, there are times you can mix small but lots of dots & lines together. But colours can be brighter.

If the prints are big, you can go for matching colours or colours look good together like blue&yellow, green&brown, grey&yellow, etc

At the end of the day, fashion is all about seeing more & experimenting even more.

But style is your own. You create the unique style of your own, wear it often, be gutsy & in time to come, these guts will slowly become your self confidence & natural self.

If you look carefully, there are lines formed in my tulle skirt. This is another way that you can play around with the visual effect of the look with dots & lines.

So, do have fun in dressing up yourself. It is not easy but yet easy.

This is the last post of the last day in Osaka.

I have to say this!

It was SO SO SO SO cold that I did not take many pictures.

I tried but I totally gave up on it.

I was so so so so so cold to the bone that I am speechless!

So pardon me.

Time to bid farewell. I was very tired at this moment before the flight. But I wish that I can have more luxury & time & money to visit Japan longer or even again. I will miss their food for sure. Japanese are so courteous, & nice. Most importantly, I love their transportation network. I am more confident to travel in Japan in the future. Even if alone I am more prepared. Lastly, I wish to come back to see lavenders, flowers, cherry blossoms.......

Of course, I wish no more disasters for Japan. It's a place to visit & enjoy the mother nature creations.

A Beautiful Tuesday with a heavy mind

Hi Tuesday

It's me. I believe you must be thinking, "Why am I always left out in the week? I hardly get much attention from many when they talk about how's the week, which day is the best, etc?" Like Monday is always blue so everyone hates Monday, but that is attention. Wednesday is the mid-week. Everyone is happy to be working on a Wednesday cos that means half of the week is gone. Needless say, Thursday & Friday, most people will tend to be more relaxed and giving in office or work. Saturday & Sunday gets the most positive attention for most. So Where is Tuesday?

Well, put that aside, I shall dedicate this post to Tuesday. A day which I feel that we should give credit to.
This is a day when I believe my engine motor is running at the best. I should perform the best.
Even during a 7 days holiday(if holiday begins on Monday), 1st day is always the unfamiliar & most tiring day cos we tend to travel from home to our destination. We take a rest and 2nd day will be the best time to enjoy.

However, when it is good times, any day any moment is still the best moments. Who cares if it is Monday/ Wednesday. As for now, I feel that everyday is a lousy day. I don't like where I am now. What I am doing now. Cos I don't know what I am doing actually. It has been confirmed that I am letting go.

I was so firm of my decision that I chose to take many steps back. I refuse to explain, refuse to say much cos I know it will lead to more explainations & excuses. I don't see the need to. No matter how much goodies were offered, compliments were said, most important was how I felt. I am only surprised that there are some who can pass comments/ compliments about me without knowing me. So I was wondering, do they know me well enough, which I don't know, to say that? Or are they expecting me to behave the way they think I am? Conclusion: Nope, I can't & I won't.

Deep inside, I can be fun but boring most of the time. On the outside, I am not fun at all. So I really don't know how do they know that I am fun and have a great personality. Cos I don't have that great personality, this I know. Okay, this is getting negative but yup. I think I should just move on to another point.

For my whole life, I have been very wilful. I do things I deemed comfortable. Yes, comfortable and not right. Even if it's wrong, I will still do it cos I felt that kind of wrong is just so right. Something wrong to some may just be right to others. So why are we doing things that is the norm or right? I have been telling myself that I should just follow my heart. Up till date, I guess why I am still here is cos I followed my heart. If I allow myself to be more rational, I will be more successful. But what I want is not that. I just can't find that satisfaction in myself. I am so sorry to tell myself that. I felt guilty.

32 years have passed. How many more 32 years will I have? Am I going to live another 32 years just like that? Slogging my life away for monetary satisfaction? Is this what I really want?
Once I told someone that I want to do volunteering work, that someone told me that even so, I need to have money to fund myself for doing volunteering. I was really upset inside. Or I should say sad to know that a simple gesture of doing charity needs money. Even now, there are many stories of people being nice or doing good deeds are fake with ulterior motive. It is no longer a simple way of living.

Another someone & I spoken before & I asked, "Do you think XX or I are more simple?"
Inside me, I was very sure the answer was me. But nope, that someone answered "YOU, KHOO EI LEEN".
I was totally taken aback. I asked why.
& She said that, one's lifestyle is not an indicator of his/her contentment and simplicity of character and thinking. My life may be simple & down-to-earth, but what I want for myself & in life is not only what it seemed. It got me pondering again. I was really confused.
True enough, many years later, XX was married to someone whom she did not think/ expect was the one. Well, life is such. She did it anyway & was just so simple. I am very happy for her. It was a great choice. But for me, life is not just about marrying someone, have kids & that's it. There are more. So this is what woke me up. I am really not simple at all.

I want easy life! (Who doesn't want a easy life?) However, too easy, I will find it too boring. Too stressful, I will find it too stressful. C'mon Eileen, what's up with you?
But Wait Wait Wait......at least now I know, I really don't like corporate life. I hate it actually. Arrrggghhh...

I love teaching deep inside. But to teach in Singapore, many mentioned that it is stressful. Frankly speaking, if I do not have the STOINK thing in me which is like a time-bomb, I will go right straight into teaching. Cos I love to share, love to teach basically. Just so simple! So I am thinking if I should go into full time tutoring. At the same time, I can manage my RawRawRad too. Hmmmmm....well well.......

I love animals, or should I work in the Zoo or Vetinerary or something?

But well well, it still boil down to feeding the mouth & paying the bills. This is sickening! I hate this!

Just a thought for Tuesday.

Hi Eileen BFF

I am not sure if I am writing to the right person, or am I the right person to write this to you.
But I thought it will be nice to share some thoughts with you. Especially with someone whom I regard the closest to my heart. I hope you are the one, Eileen BFF.

You must be asking, who are you? what do you want to tell me in this blog post? curiousity is sinking in.
To be honest, I am not sure what do I want to say too. But I know that I am very curious about many things around me.

These few weeks, or I should say, this 1 year, it has been a fun & interesting year. I got to take a break and had loads of fun with my friends. Few friends of mine got closer and did things that we never imagined we will do. Everyone envy me. I am thankful that my mum is supportive of me taking a break.

Year 2011 ended with a trip to Osaka. It was fun but before I can finish blogging about the trip, I got a job. So fast so swift. I thought this was it.

I had great start with the job, thinking that I could learn loads of things which I still believe I can. But as days goes by, it start to eat me up real fast. Eating up my interest & expectations of the position. As mentioned earlier, "days goes by", it was barely 10 working days including today (30th Jan 2012). These 10 days are enough to kill me & made me depressed. To some, it is just a trivial thing but it was escalated to a point that I was not able to control myself & my emotions. It was so bad that I started to doubt myself, my abilities. I was so upset with myself. Many times, I know I am someone who jump to the gun of accusing/ pointing fingers at others. But this time, I tried to reflect from within 1st. Maybe it was my problem. Problems like:

I was the one who can't perform or deliver.
I need to be more flexible in my thinking.
I have to be hardworking and speed up my learing process.
See it from another perspective.
Give myself & others more time to adapt.

All these self reflections were spinning around my head and killing me.

1 night, I finally broke down, I started to wonder if this was the case. Instead, I kind of have an answer inside for myself. I decided to let it go. I know that you will support me because everyone is different. There are differences in dealing with human beings. There is no way I can change others to suit me so I believe the best way is to change myself. Change here refers to moving away cos I do not want to create unhappiness. At the same time, I know I will be happier by moving away from this place which I can't gel in.

Eileen BFF, what do you think up till this point? Do you think I am too rash, too wilful? I am having these struggles now but yet, I know that I will still go ahead with my own decision despite receiving much concerns from my friends. I am really thankful to have you all by my side, at least to hear me out.

Suddenly, I remember I did a little 'thesis' for a job application. XXX Company required me to write a short paragraph about a topic. And I wrote this

Brief Essay Outlining the principles which guide my life

Once, a mentor told me, “Dream Big, Start Small, Build Deep”. This phrase got me pondering. Since then, I strongly believe in this motto and behave accordingly because these 6 words empowered greater meanings in life.

“Dream Big” – I believe, one with dreams will be strongly motivated to progress and improve. One without dreams is similar to one running a race without a destination or goal. However, it is also important to monitor and ask myself, am I dreaming out of the impossible? Am I having too many BIG and impractical dreams or was it because others are fighting for it, hence, I follow suit? As such, it is important that I am truthful to myself and am sure that this is what I really want. Change is constant which is beyond my control. With this, I learnt to be more adaptable and flexible so that I am able to tackle and bear any hiccups along the way.

“Start Small” – I came to this world with nothing. Slowly I learnt how to read, write, speak and even picking up other skills. It was never something that happened overnight. However, it is inevitable that we want more, so we might start off big & too much. Unfortunately, many failed terribly after adopting this approach. Success has no fixed formula. It is all about learning from experiences, and re-applying it into life.

“Build Deep” – In business aspects, companies with deep and solid foundation will tend to survive even in bad times. So I built my character with strong belief in honesty, integrity and responsibility. With these, I will not be swayed away easily by temptations which might lead me further away from my goal or dreams set initially. I believe everyone will make mistakes along the way but it is essential to admit the mistake and learn from it. I want to be someone of honesty, integrity and will not do anything against my moral standards.

It is important to be self contented and appreciates all that I was given in life. To share is to bring joy to others’ lives and in return, my heart will smile too.

Lastly, I am grateful that my mum has recovered from a series of depression due to financial problems. Her experience has taught me "life is not all about money." Life is also not about putting all burdens on oneself. It is important to have the mental support from your family and friends. Now, I am one who is willing to share my happiness and problems with my love ones and friends. In this way, I will be a happy person with a well balanced life.

I thought I was really speaking from my heart. so true so true.

There are some crazy thoughts inside me that I have about the world, about how life is now. This is crazy. You will find that I am crazy to think this way. But I think I shall keep that to myself.

Am I boring you down with all these words? with all these negative aura???? I hope not.

But I am glad to have this little episode in my life. I am clearer now. I am clearer about what I do not want.
***YEAH*** SHOUT OUT LOUD!!!!!

As for now, I am worried. worried to worry my mummy! She is my guardian angel in life though it always look like I am the one who is chasing after her to be careful, take care of herself. That is totally wrong. I am so dependent on her. At the same time, I am very dependent to Di too. I know that.

Thanks to someone up there. I know you are kind enough to give me the BEST family. The Best Partner I can ever have. So that is the reason why I am having huddles here in this part of my life. I shall take it easy. I will try to.

No way am I going to tumble down. I can cry, I can shout but I can never fail myself.

Okay, I shall stop here & talk no more. Sorry that there are no pictures for this post. I promise I will be better. My smile will be bigger & louder.

Day 07.

A day of our own!

Intention was just to walk around & shop if we can.

Early morning, we don't know what to eat! & I have been craving for Taco Ball!

So there we found, along some little lane.

We headed to Hep 5 and saw long queue of crowd. We did not know what are they queuing for. In the end, we queued too. & Later found that there was nothing big deal about queuing. Not to say that 1st 10/100 will get some vouchers or freebies!!! LOL Typical Singaporeans right????? I know!

After that, we came to this place for our lunch. It was some kind of Japanese Chinese restaurant. They served oriental food.

Not too bad fried rice. The wok taste was really nice.

The set of dishes. Oriental dishes. Not bad too.

Some fatty pork. Melt like water! Water!!!! Juices & meat practically flowed around in my mouth! That soft!

This got Di real excited!

Di has been looking for this deodorant sheets. You can place these sheets in between clothes, wardrobes.......

It was so good that from far, I can smell it w/o opening the box.

Today, Day 06!

The day we left Tokyo for Osaka!

Another long tiring day of travelling.

So mind you all 1st, nothing much interesting I believe.

But please don't be bored with me okay?

After this post, I wanna wanna wanna invest some $$$$ on real good camera.

Even iPHONE 4S is good! Trust me, Di's phone is so much better than mine.

But ButBut, I remember a mentor told me.

Camera is not the key factor. It is the person behind the lens.

I will work on this too.

The cool-wannabe at our usual spot for free WIFI. Damn precious spot! & It must be this position wor!!!!!

Close up in the early morning. My main purpose of this picture is to show my improved skin. It got better as each day went by. I believe it was the weather in Japan & my change of skincare for the trip only. So smooth & nice. Most importantly, my blemishes got really lighter. Point: I don't use any concealer at all. All I use is BB cream & light foundation.

Okay, Back to Japan Trip!

A Brand New Year 2012!

No resolutions has been made this year. Reason? I don't know.

I think I am just too impromptu kind of person.

Never know what is coming next, though I believe I am still a very boring person.

But well, let this year be different, more different I should say.

Cos last year, Di supported me to take a break for more than half a year.

This year, I shall try to work hard for our Mexico trip.

For now, Japan trip again. It's Day 05 and we are feeling really tired.

Tired means our bones were literally breaking apart. We have been changing hotels here & there, up & down the railway station. With all our luggages! No joke!!!!

Moral of this whole trip is: try to divide Japan into a few trips. This time, we are greedy to cover many places in 1 week trip. *bleah*

Anyway, we were all prepared to walk around on the New Year's Day. I mentioned walk cos most shops should be closed on this day but we were wrong. Shibuya & Shinjuku were busy with crowds!

There were shopping everywhere. =) Woohoo~~~~

I was trying to take the picture in a way that it looked like I combined 2 pictures into 1, which I think I failed. But well, no harm trying! =)

Di in her confident trying GREY outfit! She was not able to comprehend how 1 can look okay in all GREY outfit! I assured her that she will look nice. What do you all think? She looks good!

Me, Calvin & Di headed to a Japanese Italian restaurant for some pasta. Time for a little change!

What then interest me was all these Mystery Bags/ 福袋 which is how Japanese called it.

So most of the shops there will pack all these bags & placed it in front of their shopfront entrance. They will shout & scream for attention. Some are selling for ¥5000(SGD80) for a bag of goodies worth ¥20,000(SGD300). But the only con is, you would not know what is inside. Very rare cases, you will see some shops with posters telling you roughly what they have in the bag but colours will differ. Japanese are smart to categorize the 福袋 into S/M/L. You can choose according to your size. So I was all excited about this whole gimmick ..........But I walked & walked & walked. I was not willing to buy any cos I was scared. Scared of the uncertainty.

So its bags after bags after bags............................

And I finally bought 1 bag with 10 items. All with the help of Di's convincing powers. =) I was happy with my purchase. The only unhappiness was I lost the scarf on my last day in Osaka! Hmpmf. Will point out the scarf to you guys later! Even Di love it!

1st Item: Pop Art Blazer - Green

I was given the chance to choose 3 items & I chose this green blazer the 1st time I saw it. The green is just so rich & bright! Great for beginners who want to build up their guts of wearing bright colours. The cutting is superb & the length is just nice for an average build of mine, 1.62m.

What do you think? You will love it. Trust me! & The material is okay for the humid weather in Singapore.

2nd Item: Croc Skin Wedge Shoes

I chose this only because of 1 reason. It is the croc skin prints on the wedges. That is all. It speaks for itself.

Great design, great colour (basic is GREAT too). Most importantly, It is very comfy.

3rd Item: Flaunt Pleat Paperbag Skirt - Navy

This skirt is a versatile piece for both casual & working attire. What I have presented here is a style of a casual office attire. Mainly for office ladies who are in the junior executive level or slightly senior. Just put on a bright red pairs of heels & you will spice up the whole outfit like I do.

For real formal wear, put on a tailored fitting shirt & you will look like a PRO/ even Manager.

For casual, there is no need for me to say more. You can just don on a tank top or even Tee-Shirts & run around with your flat pumps or even canvas shoes. You are good to go!

Time to say goodbye to the cold & white beautiful Hakuba.

We reserved breakfast for ourselves & we must be there between 07:30-08:30am.

I must really say Japanese are very punctual, efficient & healthy.

Breakfast is breakfast. Must be taken as early as possible.

When we reach the restaurant, I was totally taken aback by the set-ups.

This was my breakfast, 1st traditional Japanese. At first, I thought the portion was way too little for my glutton appetite.

But I was wrong. Very wrong. I was so full. I have to say that the vegetables in Japan are very fresh. All salad I had are so refreshing. I love it!

Me & Miho. I met her with her mum the night before during our Onsen dip. She is so adorable that I must must take picture with her. Something about Japanese kids. Sometimes we really can't differentiate if they are boys or girls because they are just too pretty cute.

Newly bought ear muffs but lost it on that day itself. I was totally upset about myself. Hate myself for being so forgetful & careless.

We spent our countdown here in Abola-Soba(somewhere behind KDDI Building, Shinjuku) having our late night supper. It was nice & different. I love it.

A common sight again. Efficient & straight-forward.

Huge Mug of Coke. It's really funny how we can always crave for certain food during cold winter time. Me craving for ice-cream, Di for soda-drinks. =)

I realised my skin was really better in Japan. Even Potato mentioned that when I was back in Singapore.

I believe the weather did helped abit. However, I also changed my skincare(travel pack & a gift from Shisedo) for this trip only, for the dry weather. Shisedo is good.

I will change it once I have more luxury budget.

Anyway, we did not manage to have any nice shot of Harajuku & Shinjuku streets so I decided to omit that.

Instead of putting very blur & redundant lousy pictures, I think it is better to do without it.

Not to say other pictures are very good. But I think it is good enought to say what I want to convey.

Day 03 in Japan! Day 01 in Hakuba!

We reached here at night so we were not aware how beautiful Hakuba is.

But in early morning, when we look out of our window, we were totally WOW-ed by what we saw!

I was speechless! Totally dumb-founded!

Mother Nature is simply mesmerizing.

I was all excited about going out & have fun. But wait till you see see later.

Amazing postcard view I have taken using iPHONE only. Seriously, it was the place which did the picture justice. Not my skills or even the iPHONE.

Di & the kids were having a hell of time playing, throwing snow. I was totally frozen & refused to make big movements.

Di was well-prepared with her Face Mask Warmer. It is damn good! Must have for winter attire! You guys can get it from G-Market. You can get it very cheap from there.

While searching for a place to have our brunch, I came about this cafe which has its logo look like our POSB Bank Logo.

We came to this beautiful Mexico-Western fusion restaurant, Uncle Sevens!

I love our hotel's concept. It runs like a family home concept. They have their pantry area where they serve us coffee & tea.

Hi all, it's Day 02!

Woke up early to catch the train to Hakuba, a ski resort which is about 5-6 hours away from Osaka.

Giving allowance for missing our way here & there, lunch and makan here & there, we should be able to reach Hakuba by evening. (But in actual fact, we reached there late late late!)

The real challenge started only then, praying hard that we can find our way there.

While waiting for Di's sister & brother-in-law, we had some snap snap times.

In this trip, anytime along the way, Di's sis and bro-in-law will just whack the stores whereever they see it. It is amazing how they are crazy over UniQlo. I am really not sure how cheap is it in Japan, compared to Singapore. But well, all I bought was socks.

We had our brunch in this restaurant at the basement of Shin-Osaka station. Very standard and serve nice Japanese food.

I was impressed with the stock! No oil! I meant visible oil!

Eggs in Japan simply rock! The greenies's green are so rich!

This small little ticket, maybe about 4cm by 3cm, says alot!

16:00 - Time of Departure. When it shows 16:00pm, in Japan, trains will leave on the dot! Impressive! Thumbs Up!

18:04 - Time of Arrival. Given the fact that they depart on time, what else can you expect? They reach on time too! It was proven. Tested & proven.

Along the way, train will leave every stations within 2-3 mins. Hence, many people will prepare themselves and alight the train in orderly and efficient manner. So much so that we were actually quite complacent about it & we had a little episode along the way to Hakuba.

Sis & family forgot 1 of their luggage so Sis hopped back to the train to grab the bag. Guess what happened? Door closed.

There went Sis. Without her handbag, she was left only the luggage and herself in the train heading to the next station whereas we were supposed to change platforms and board the other train which was like only 10 mins away.

We panicked for few seconds and composed ourselves. Station Control is where we need to go. We had great help from them in checking the next train coming from the opposite direction, which platform, replacing our original ticket to another timing. I was real impressed by their helpfulness. 101 points!

This is gonna be a long post of pictures pictures & pictures.

Pardon the quality as most of the pictures were taken using iPHONE 3GS.

No excuse & reason why didn't I use a better camera! iPHONE is more convenient & instantaneous for me.

Saw something I wanna shoot, took it out & Snap!

Anyway, this trip was a trip full of nonsense on my part! Lots of blur incidents! Scary moments!

We were supposed to depart SIN (ETD 0740am/ETA 0840am)--> KL (ETD 1400)-->KIX (ETA 2125pm).

I set my alarm at 0445 for more allowance to prepare & check through before leaving the house at 0600am.

But to my horror, I woke up at 0547am! How bad can this be to start our holidays???

I hate to rush but somehow, we managed to get prepared & let house before 0615am! Well Well!

It is possible to get prepared within a short time under pressure!!!

Here we are! Both look fresh right? All set to conquer Japan!

Seriously, I really don't know what to do to my hair! This length, this awkard length! Arrrgggghhh!

Hope I don't look messy though!

Di was very lovely to order meals on board for us. But somehow, it is fated that I have nasi lemak on board cos I actually bought nasi lemak during transit in KL. Before I could eat it, I dropped the whole set of nasi lemak! I was so mad at myself for being so clumsy & created a BIG MESS! Arggggghhhhh.....But as what Di always say, "Holidays yah, no angry unhappy feeling yah?????" That made me felt better!

After a long terrible 4hours of transit, 7 hours of flight, we finally reached Osaka Kansai Airport (KIX). Time to put on my Basque-style Beret Cap to hide my ugly flat hair! Best buy from H&M Hong Kong. Still can't get over the fact that I did not get the mustard as well. Perhaps I should check out Singapore's branch if they have it! ( I have not been to Singapore's H&M till now!!!)

During the flight, Di asked me a question.

Di: Did you check if you need to have a VISA to enter Japan?

Me: No wor! I thought no need. At the same time, I have been thinking only about yours. (DI is an Indonesian hence she is very careful with her VISA's application.)

Di: You sure? Then what if you need VISA to enter but you don't have?

Me: Then I will have to U-turn back to SIN lorrrrrrrrrrrrrr! You continue with the holidays.

After this conversation, I was very troubled cos there was still a few more hours to landing. & I kept asking & assuring myself that Singaporean passport do not need any VISA to enter. Even America has granted VISA-waiver for Singaporean passports.

Hence, I prayed & prayed & prayed.

I queued before Di in the customs cos if I can't enter, then it is up to Di to choose if she wants to go on or U-turn back with me.

Thank god! I was through the custom! It was such a relieve!!!!!

Damn, at that moment, I was thinking that it was only the 1st day of the trip & all these arrrgggghhhh things happened on me! What can I say? Nothing but pray hard!

*Oh yah, Di reminded me too! We forgot to purchase travel insurance for this trip! Best Champion I was!

Luckily nothing happened!

This was how I travelled light! But on the 3rd day of the trip onwards, it was still not travel light in Di's perspective!

A tip for all. Do purchase JR Rail Pass in Singapore JTB before you travel to Japan. Reason being JR Line is the most extensive rail network in Japan.

All you need to do is to make a trip to JTB in ION and let the counter staff know your travel period.

They will issue you a JR Rail pass, charged accordingly to your period of stay.

For all JR lines, all you need to do is to flash the pass & you are good to take as many rides as you can.

But for other local lines besides JR line, you will need to purchase the ticket to board the train.

So do be careful with this.

However, no worries about that. The railway officers were all very helpful in providing information along the way.

Simple and nice but as usual, very small. Nothing much to complain.

Late night MUST HAVE supper at Nakau Restaurant

You will find alot of these joints which operate by vending machine.

Drop your coins/notes, select your food, take the ticket, pass it to the waitress, after 5mins you will have your food!

How convenient this is!

But the only bad point about this vending machine is, some has no pictures and only all Japanese characters.

You will be caught in the above situation like us.

What we did was, we went to see any pictures that we can find in the joint & tally the price/Japanese characters to those on the vending machine.

So to prevent forgetting which is which, we had many fingers doing the job of pointing at the items we want.

It was really funny! But it works!

My 1st meal - Beef Udon with half boiled eggs.

The egg was fabulous! I am totally hooked. You know what? The egg is not hot at all, it is super cold! & the yolk was shaking! OMGgggoooossshhhh!

Convenient stores are another common sight in Japan. You will never miss it or look for it.

With the range and variety of food they sell in there, how can Japanese ladies stay slim with all these snacks, cakes, rolls, etc??? Can you imagine their supermarkets? Goshhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

During this cold weather, I found a rare sight! Something like those roadside stall you can find in Hong Kong, but the only thing is these are all boiled snacks like beancurd skin and some other rice cakes look alike food.

After the late night shopping in the convenient store (FAMILY MART), it was time to tuck in and have a good night sleep as we headed off to HAKUBA the next day. A beautiful ski resort spot in the Nagano Prefercture! Must go Must go!

In another 8 hours, Di and I will be setting off to JAPAN via Kuala Lumpur. To be frank, this trip has been like a fairy tale. Felt so surreal. Felt like a dream in which I will wake up tomorrow & end up like a normal day. But the packing & repacking over the past week has made it real as well. I am talking crap here but well, this is how I feel right now!
I am delighted to end my Year 2011 with a Japan trip! Everyone is envious about this fact! Some good friends like Shirley & PTL have been giving me the "hmmmmm", "so good", "Japan leh".....But deep inside, I do wish that they can come along! It will be real fun!! No worries gals, we have a MEXICO coming up! That will be the PARTY of the YEAR 2012!
Let's all work hard yah?

My bad experience from my Australia trip in August taught me to travel real light this time! I am given only 1 cabin bag to pack all my winter wear, scarves, long-sleeve tops & other bits & pieces. This is tougher than not able to shop (Though not shopping is as painful)! I must dress up in JAPAN! Hence, I have to mix & match, & repeat all my clothes for 7 days! Took pictures of the outfits in order to remember the combinations! I will promise to take picture of my daily wear in JAPAN & blog it when I am back!

Besides those days of flying during my SQ days, this is the 1st time away during New Year. I will miss partying with family & good friends! You guys & gals must enjoy yourself yah? I will miss you all!
Hopefully WIFI is readily available everywhere in JAPAN! Will try to update in Twitter & Facebook! If I can, I will try to blog!

I particularly love this purple colour! LOVE IT!!!!!

Lately I am crazy over lipsticks, lip-colours. The thing about lips now is there must be colour. Even if it is nude, the colour of nude must be seen as well. (How nude can it be then????) Well, you girls are all smart enough to know what I mean. =)
Below are some nice lip colours that I found. But but but but but...............I so wish that I have fairer skin!!! With fairer skin, I can wear more colours! Errrmmm, lipcolours will look nicer on fairer skin! The vibrance of the lipcolour will be more obvious. It will be contrasting!

Most important thing is, Girls, must have nice row of teeth! nice means, straight, white. Off white is okie. But not yellow!

Well, I better go check my teeth now while you girls enjoy the lips below!

In order to beat the Monday Blues, I will opt for brighter colours so as to feel lighter & happier.

Tuesday

There might be meetings pouring over from Monday, hence I go for a safer darker dull peach top & midnight blue skirt. Definitely a good choice for formal feel.

Wednesday

By the mid-week, I will definitely feel like dragging to work. Hence, it's time to spice up a little with some clashing colours!

Thursday

For some, Thursday might be the start of weekends. So, I want to be formal but yet my dressing comes with a little fun & chic element. I feel that the top will fit just nicely.

Friday

Well, this is the day for letting the hair down. So I practically let my attire down as well. A cape on top of a (just)over knee length dress will be perfect! Most importantly, I love the wedges pumps

Let's welcome our beautiful angel, Arissa Lau.

She is the darling of Andrew & Stephanie.

I was so excited when I heard the news of Steph's pregnancy.

I was more excited when I know her due is nearing.

Everything happened so fast when I was still playing with Steph's tummy few months back.

Now, here she is.

I was all excited to carry her, take pictures with her. I love babies but dislike toddlers. Weird right?

Many others are of opposite. But I love babies' angelic look & innocent expressions. Actually these make me feel calm. Feel so loved!

She was all asleep when we went to visit her & Steph Mummy. Apparently she had stayed up all night long before. So now, she is kind of recovering her sleep. We can see that mummy is tired too.

We had a little dinner, chit chat, & some laugh laugh before I tried to carry Arissa again. Hopefully she will wakey dokey. Who knows????? She suddenly gave it to me & the rest! She simply cried non stop.....

Time for me to hit the corporate world soon.

Up to this point, I believe my life is like a Tour-Round-The-World Cruise.

I simply go where the waves, currents take me.

Put it in a nicer way, I allow myself to adapt to changes.

Put it in another but bad way, I am someone who has no aims or ambitions in life.

However, I know that at every stage in life, what I do, I try to enjoy to the max.

I do what makes me happy.

Many always strive to do the best nowadays, but is best = happy?

There is a saying, "The higher the expectations, the more disappointed one is."

I have another belief, "The more short-medium term plans one make, the more flexible one will be."

Life now in modern societies is constanly changing.

There is only 1 word to be aware: Change

What I have learnt from taking a break during 2011 is,

One definitely need to let loose abit in order to move on further, stronger & more motivated.

I was so irritated from the office pressures earlier this year.

But now, I am pretty eager to go back to work to show what my capabilities shall bring me to.

I am a dreamer. I dream to have my own individual shoes room, walk-in wardrobe, etc

But for now, I am easily satisfied just looking at the heels above for work.

A confident worker I shall be.

A gift from Shirley. A gift that she knows I will love it, I can carry it off easily. True enough, I love this case the moment I saw it. I got loads of compliments for carrying the case around.

I would have to say that this outfit of the day was enahanced by the case. It would have been very dull & I would not have been able to bring out the 'Picasso' element.

Accidental Memory Caught

Singapore is small. Population is increasing. But Land is still so limited.

But we have alot of Es in Singapore.

In some countries, it is known as highways, freeways.....

Here, we called it (E)xpressways.

We have namely:

Pan-Island Expressway (PIE)

Central Expressway (CTE)

Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE)

East Coast Parkway (ECP)

Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE)

Tampines Expressway (TPE)

Seletar Expressway (SLE)

Kranji Expressway (KJE)

Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE)

Marina Coastal Expressway (MCE) - currently under construction

Why is Government building so many expressways?

Simple reason is Singaporeans, many Singaporeans own cars. (Have not include foreigners!)

Traffic is always slow & slower. But to me, traffic in Singapore is still bearable compared to some other neighbouring countries. =)

Singapore's public transport system is getting more & more diversified & convenient.

Earlier the big woohaaaa was the Circle Line.

Now, the latest woohaaaa is the constructing of the latest expressway:

North South Expressway (NSE)

This 21km long expressway is expected to be ready by 2020.

Travelling time from North & Northeast part to city area during peak hours shall be reduced by about 30%.

This is a good news to many!

But But, there is always good & bad in all happenings.

Bad news is, property & residents who are residing & situated along the area where constructions of the expressway lies will have to go!

Rochor Centre is 1 of the areas which is the hot topic among many.

Rochor Centre is 1 of the really old estate situated in town area built since 1977. (older than me!)

To be very frank, I have always passed by the area but never really walked around the estate.

1 of these days, I happened to drop by Rochor Centre searching for some scissors with Di. Hence, we shopped abit. It was a school days hangout & passby spot for Di. She still remember that there is an NTUC there. She often walked from School, passed by Rochor Centre if she needs to go Bugis. What a spot!

Why do I say that? Reason because, when Di and I were about to leave the place. My eyes was attracted to something dull. I should say, Rochor Centre is a place that I will never thought that I will buy anything from. However, I was caught by this particular material on this particular item which I never thought it will be.

It was this pair of shoes with those non-slip material. I was so curious that I stopped Di. Normally, I will just brush off the idea of shopping when I am with Di, unless in overseas. =) But I knew that I have to stop & see what exactly it is.

It was this beautiful looking pumps. It is so tough looking, sturdy & so me!!!!

It was so interesting that I shouted out to Di," Hey Di, see! It's those non-slip material kind".

Di asked," You want? Buy lor."

I was so happy to hear that & so, I quickly asked how much it was!

I was all ready to fight with the lady owner to slash prices!

But guess what???

The price of this pair of shoes is SGD 7.90!

I was totally shocked to hear the price! I was so shocked that I stood there for a few seconds & looked at DI. The next moment, I heard Lady Owner said," How about SGD 6? You take it for SGD 6 lah???"

I almost fainted after hearing it. But I composed myself & said okie okie, I will take it!

I feel that this pair of shoes is fated to be mine cos:

This is the last pair that I saw there.

Size is 40 which suits me perfectly.

This was my 1st time to Rochor Centre & I found a treasure there.

& Remember that, I was leaving the place & on my way to Bugis. I can't believe how this small little thing caught my attention! It was just FATED to be mine!

I think this is my favourite designer till now.

I blogged about him quite awhile ago this year. See here.

I thought this collection is better than previous.

What a meticulous designer.

He practically incorporate all designs a woman love like:

denim, blazer, shorts, pullover, evening gowns, cardis, oversize blouse.

Not only these, it was really daring & challenging of him to design belts in the hip level for denim shorts & pants. (which I thought hips are normally the biggest part which women would not want to flaunt it.)

I love the kind of casual but yet a little drop of stylish element.

I will say that he has made it in the way that the laziest girl on earth can put on his pieces & look the best of all.

Hope Monday today is not too blue for you girls.

I am a Libran. Typical Libran.

Love Fashion, Music, Art.

Love balancing.

But love extremes & adventures.

I can see these traits in my likings for dressing up & styles.

I want to be feminine but I am guilty of being a F.C.P (Female Chauvinist Pig).

I want that MALE hormones to flow in my style.

& Here, I found the latest A.L.C 2012 Ready-To-Wear Collection is a good one!

Very subtle balance of both feminine & masculine elements in the collection.

Seeing black leather pintuck pants --> long white sleeved dress.

Day 03 in Melbourne, Down Under.

We were excited about it cos we have only the iPHONE 4 to lead us around from now!

We prayed for no accident, no losing our way but we forgot to pray hard not to have FINES.

We ended up with few speeding fines but well, we had fun.

We hit the road & headed to Great Ocean Road.

It was not difficult actually so I will encourage road trips!

I will do it again but with more time for each place.

These cows actually know manners & have the courtesy to move aside. I am sorry to say that some human beings are not on par with them. They need to learn from these cutie cows.

Very old-dated post this is.
I went to Australia on a road trip in August. It is now November.....& I have only uploaded 1 post on the trip. What the hell am I doing this 2 months plus? Well, stop whining. At least I am getting things going!

Not bad afterall.

Lalangs, Photoshoot & Laughters

Heaven! I didn't know that there is a nice place off Ponggol with eateries, restaurants, parks!

Most importantly, lots of Lalang. A plant that was so familiar to me as a little primary kid.

I was there for no food, no drink, no coffee.

But was there to help Shirley in her shoot with Jac.

Jac is a blogger and has her own blog. So that day, main purpose was to shoot her in those selected dresses sponsored by various blogshops.

It was my 1st time knowing her & had loads of fun.

Lots of laughter Lots of grumbles cos the weather was really killing!

& we had real simple props for the shoot.

No dressing room hence I used the reflector to build up a partial dressing room for her to change ON THE SPOT!

But well, who says we need to be atas? As long as we can get things done, how we do it is not important!

I was most happy to dress up in the lightest outfit for that day.

As an assistant, I need to run about so that explained why.

But in the end, I looked like a Picasso running about during the shoot.

Shirley took a couple of pictures of me that day.

Always love hanging out with her cos there will always be lots of laughter & BLURNESS!

LOL

Most importantly, we love different things in fashion & colours.

But there is one common thing about us,

we do not like anything too GIRLY/ FEMININE!

We like it with a punch!

Hong Kong~ I love (live) Hong Kong~ It's a place for me!

Here we are! Finally in Hong Kong!

We took a group picture with my camwhore skills in the "Skytrain" from Terminal 3 --> Main Terminal.

HKG Airport is so huge now that I really don't know how many gates they have man.

Everyone is rushing while we still have the time for picture!! We are all PRO!

We were from Penang.

There were 2 more Librans & Octobies (October babies) who flew from Singapore to HKG to meet us!

Spot the difference? Last minute decision to join us in this trip!

Basically there are 8 of us in the picture!

1 NON Octobies, 7 Octobies.

Out of 7 Octobies, 6 Librans & 1 Scorpio.

Day 02 in HKG, We left for Tung Chung early in the morning. But Di and I went to Nam Cheong to meet up with a business friend. Had a little chat & met up with the rest of them. A little shot with Miss Boo on the subway. See how skinny is she. I will never be that skinny! Never! =(

Well, so what, we took GROUP PICTURE again! With my camwhore skill, even if it's a normal camera. Just give me anything, iPHONE, camera....I can just snap with my fingers! Finger I mean!

This is all about doing the crazy thing! Just do it man!

Basically we went shopping only on DAY 02. After this, I was too busy shopping & forgot about taking pictures anywhere, anytime!

On DAY 03, shopping continues. But on DAY 04, weather was good so I must head off to Lantau Island to meet the BIG BUDDHA. This is a must must for me in every Hong Kong trip to make the trip & myself complete. I always enjoy the cable car ride. Quiet, Peaceful & Breezy.

Well, let me end this post & the trip with the wonderful delicious Portugese Egg Tart from the Famous Macau Cafe situtated in Causeway Bay. This is the only fantastic thing to order from Macau Cafe. For better food, go Tsui Wah!

Exact location of Macau, I can only say it is further down from the famous Tsui Wah Cafe in Causeway Bay.

LOL

I am looking forward to my next Hong Kong trip already.

I would love to stay there longer the next trip.

I want to travel & enjoy the islands.

But of course, a little shopping lah!

Meanwhile, I look forward to some slow & lovely Osaka in December.

That means I will celebrate New Year in Japan! What a wonderful way of ending my 2011 & welcoming 2012!

Of course, I hope to find a job that I like soon. That will make me happiest!
